P.O Box 8386, Kampala,Bukoggolwa , Gombe Town Council, Butambala district,

A group of volunteer members started the organisation out of concern for the challenges in the community that required a lasting solution. Their first activities were mainly to plan and then mobilise community members to address the needs of the growing number of orphans due to HIV/AIDS in the late 80s and 90s. We are currently reconstructing Bukoggolwa secondary school which was destroyed by the hailstorm in 2011 to support the community. BWOCC has also initiated educational agricultural and health projects in Mpigi and Butambala districts. However, our members are increasingly in need of building their capacities in terms of skills and structures. BWOCC thanks Uganda National NGO Forum for the support in networking and capacity building.

The fellowship started with evangelism in the community and supporting the vulnerable groups of people like elderly. We also started offering counselling sessions which are on-going.Today, on top of the above mentioned services, we also hold community outreach seminars on income generation (farming) and also house a NAADS farming project. The organisation has been able to partner with the Namutumba District NGO Forum and the district health office. However, our delivery some activities such as care and treatment, transport for the peer educators, pro ...

Bushenyi Town,

Our organisation was begun by a group of 30 youth members after realising the need to transform the youth and the community at large. High rate of HIV/AIDS infections, child labour and early child marriage and abuse, high levels of unemployment, increased school drop outs, lack of career guidance marred society and largely contributed to the low development. In order to attain the objectives we desired, we started with - Youth sensitisation on HIV/AIDS.- Communal Painting of the Zebra Crossing to reduce accidents on the road- Sensitisation of the youth on the saving culture to improve on their income- Encouraging the youth to join institutions of learning.- Supporting the underprivileged youth where possible.- Research on required community development needs.Since our inc ...

This organisation exists to rehabilitate and resettle young women brutalised by the LRA war and cattle rustlers in northern Uganda. As well as helping re-establish their livelihoods, we offer counselling support to rehabilitate them psychologically.CPOEI was established in 2005 when victims of violence in the LRA war were seeking refuge in the convent in Apac. Fifteen girls were resettled in two empty houses in the convent. Gradually their numbers increased and the sisters in the convent began to give them vocational training before sending them home to their families after a year in the refuge.Sewing machines for vocational training were donated by American well-wishers and, later, oxen were bought to teach the young women ploughing.Over time, more orphaned and widowed women came to th ...

Lack of knowledge hampers community empowerment. This was a major challenge our community was faced with that led to the formation of this organization by a team of concerned community members. We had high rate of school drop outs in our village because parents were not encouraging girls to study; they had a feeling that a girl child was less valuable than a boy child. We thus developed the initiative to start a Christian organization which was both educational and charitable to provide the community with all the knowledge they needed in their different capacities to help them be responsible Ugandans.Through our local churches as the main training ground we started by; showing parents their role towards children. We also informed parents the importance of girl child education. We encourag ...
